The Route
The Everest Anniversary Expedition 2003 will follow the classical route to Mount Everest via the southeast ridge. Along this route, four high camps will be necessary:
- Camp 1 (5920 m) above the Khumbu Icefall,
- Camp 2 (6400 m) in the Western Cwm,
- Camp 3 (approx. 7300 m) in the Lhotse flank,
- Camp 4 (7900 m) on the South Col
Until now (April 21), the team has reached camp 1 and 2, and they carried material to these camps.
